Unexpected Pleasures

Last Friday I made the journey to The Design Museum in London to see the exhibition Unexpected Pleasures, which had been recommend to me. And I was not disappointed.

I saw three exhibitions that day and this was by far the best. Although it was a jewellery exhibition, I don't think you would have to have an particular interest in jewellery to enjoy it. The pieces were experimental, playful, colourful, humorous, sculptural – in short, it was fab! I came out into the cold riverside air feeling very buoyant indeed and you can't get much better than that.

Hello stranger!

So, it's been a long time since I posted but, you know me – I'm always busy.

Where to start. Well, upcycling furniture, sewing but mainly printing, printing and more printing.

I have lots more to show you so I will be posting more over the next few days.

Decisions, decisions...

I've got a solo exhibition coming up in March in Lewes. I've certainly got enough pieces but can't decide whether to stick to a theme (I have series of birds & animals, tea & cake, retro fashion, flowers & plants) or mix it up.

Work will be framed and hung on the wall – no extras in a browser or anything like that.

Any ideas?

Tea Time Selection

Tonight I'm getting ready to hang some of my tea and cake textile collages tomorrow in a mini-exhibition at Cafe 110, Seven Dials, Brighton.

If you happen to be a café hound yourself, you might be interested in a review posted here: http://coffeepotandkettle.wordpress.com/2010/11/29/cafe-one-ten-compact-and-bijou
